About Me
Welcome to Warrior Health Coach
We all have a little warrior in us, and there are times in life when we need to bring that warrior out to help us navigate through difficult times. I help clients tap into their inner warrior so that they can manage their health and have a happier life. I refer to the Functional Medicine approach where I focus on identifying and addressing the root cause of the illness or concern. I work with you to examine your lifestyle and nutritional choices and identify areas of improvement that would enrich your life and health. The client decides what is best for them. I’m only the guide and vessel that will provide the space for them to be their most authentic selves.

My Wellness Journey
My name is Donna and I am a certified nutrition health coach, a mother, a wife, a teacher, and a student of health and wellness. The wellness space has always intrigued me. The need to help others and make a difference has always been a driving force.
As Life would have it I built a career in the tech industry for many years, first in support then as a project manager. Though my career was rewarding in many ways there was still something missing. I always felt that I was not doing what I truly loved.
After the birth of my first child, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. This diagnosis opened my eyes to health and wellness in countless ways. I wanted to learn more about the disease and how it affected my body. I became more mindful of what I was eating and drinking and how I moved my body. The rheumatologist prescribed several Disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs). I responded very well for several years on one inflammation blocker and anti-inflammatory medications but I was still in pain. Being on medication for the rest of my life was not in my plans however, so I researched to find out how I can help my body perform optimally as well as reduce my RA symptoms. I started eating a pescatarian diet, only eating seafood as my source of protein along with some plant options. I found that eating this way helped to reduce my symptoms drastically. Determined to reduce my flares and my medications further I refined my diet to include more anti-inflammatory foods and reduced certain triggering foods such as Sugars, Gluten, and Alcohol. Processed foods were a thing of the past for me. By making these changes I was able to remove my anti-inflammatory medication completely and have been able to maintain this since then.
When I lost my job and needed to figure out my next steps I realized this was my opportunity to do what I love. I decided I wanted to be of service and help those who have suffered like I did and still are. I do not want anyone else to go through that alone like I did. I wanted to introduce the concept of ” Food as Medicine”, eating in a way that helps to heal your body. My health practitioners never once advised me that making lifestyle changes can improve my symptoms in fact, it was discouraged. I know for a fact that making lifestyle changes and being mindful of one’s nutrition can greatly improve every aspect of our health and I’m excited to share it with whoever is ready to work with me and start living the life they deserve.
